First Post! Renders

First post = renders (of all things!). Not my favourite thing in the CG world, but knowing a bit about this technical process gives you the potential to be so much more creative.

First render: shader set up, linear workflow.

Incrementation: secondary colour, final gathering, more shaders, zDepth.
Here are two renders (from Maya, using mentalRay) that I did for fun/ to get back into rendering. I'm using a linear workflow, and I've been experimenting with render passes, and rebuilding them in Nuke. The rebuilding is not as easy as I thought, at least when trying to build back my beauty. Note: these are not comped, they are straight out of Maya. I've worked zDepth into the second render.
